Dr. Dana Bar-On
Dr. Bar-On is Head of Entrepreneurship and Industry-Academia Relations Centers at the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University, in charge of BrainBoost and Minducate Entrepreneurship & Research centers for early stage investigators. She initiated the activities of the school with a network of over 30 companies, including active collaboration, student internships, joint courses, and events. Dr. Bar-On is also the course leader for “Entrepreneurship in Neuroscience,” a Sagol School of Neuroscience online course that is part of the Human Brain Project (HBP) Education Program.
In parallel, Dr. Bar-On is part of the Teva National Network of Excellence in Neuroscience as a research fellow in Tel Aviv University, focusing on developing early biomarkers for Parkinson's disease based on super-resolution imaging and establishing the dSTORM imaging system here in Tel Aviv University. This project is a collaboration with Prof. Maria Grazia Spillantini from Cambridge University. Dr. Bar-On serves as a scientific consultant at leading financial and high-tech private firms. She served for 5 years as an analyst in the Israeli Prime Minister’s office following her service at the 8200 elite technological unit of the IDF.
Dr. Bar-On has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including FEBS Letters, The Journal of Neuroscience, The Journal of Biological Chemistry, Journal of Molecular Biology, and the Coller Institute of Venture’s Venture Findings, and she is the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards.
